Privacy

Version 2026-10-05

This Privacy Notice explains what information is handled by the Monsters VS Guards website and Minecraft server.

The public website does not have user accounts, forms, analytics, advertising or tracking.

The separate store has its own Privacy Notice because it processes additional information connected with purchases.

The website

Server logs

When you visit the website, the web server records limited technical information needed to deliver the site and keep it operating securely.

This may include:

These logs are kept for a short period and are not used for advertising, analytics or tracking.

Cookies

The website does not set cookies.

Theme preference

If you select a light, dark or system theme, that preference is stored locally in your browser.

It does not leave your device and can be removed by clearing your browser's local site data.

Third-party content

Fonts, images and scripts used by the website are served by the website itself.

The website does not load advertising, analytics or tracking resources from third parties while you browse it.

News from Discord

News and balance-change posts shown on the website are copied from public announcement channels on the Monsters VS Guards Discord server.

The copied information consists of the public announcement and the display name of the person who posted it.

Private messages, private channels, member lists and other Discord information are not copied for this purpose.

The Minecraft server

The Minecraft server processes information needed to operate your player account and provide server features.

Connection and server logs

When you connect to the Minecraft server, the server records technical and connection information, including:

This information is kept in the server's logs.

Stardust

The server keeps your Stardust information, including:

This history is linked to your Minecraft account and is also used where necessary to keep Stardust information consistent with the separate webstore.

Cosmetic inventory

The server keeps your cosmetic inventory, including which cosmetic items your Minecraft account owns.

This is the same cosmetic inventory used by the game and, where applicable, displayed through the store.

Game statistics

The server keeps statistics about the matches played on it, so that the game can be balanced and the server improved. For each match, it records:

Beside the matches, it records how long players waited in queues, the gems players received and where they came from (match rewards, boosters, daily tasks, the Friend Bonus or an administrator), and which classes were bought in the Class Store. Every record is dated and linked to the Minecraft account it concerns.

Practice sessions (Test Kit) and the lobby's PvP arena are never recorded.

Administrators see these statistics only as totals and averages for a chosen period, on a page of the store that only they can open. That page, and the spreadsheet they can export from it, never name or identify a player.

Match replays

The server records every real match, except custom matches hosted with friends, so that it can be reviewed after it has taken place. A replay contains what happened in the match: the players' names and skins, their positions and movements, their classes, health, equipment and inventories (the items they carried, the one they held and the items' cooldowns), the King, the creatures and projectiles in the match, blocks placed and broken, hits and deaths, and the chat messages sent during the match. Whoever watches a replay sees every player of that match by name and skin from its start, including during the phases in which the match itself kept identities hidden.

Match replays may be accessed:

A VIP+ player cannot use this feature to view another player's match replay unless they participated in that match.

Every match replay is automatically deleted 30 days after the match took place. There are no exceptions to this retention period.

Why this information is kept

Minecraft server information is used to:

Storage and third parties

Minecraft server data described above is kept locally.

We do not sell this data to third parties.

The public website does not use advertising or analytics services to track visitors.

Match replays are retained for 30 days from the time the match took place and are then deleted.

Game statistics are kept for as long as the server operates, so that periods can be compared. You can ask for the records linked to your Minecraft account to be deleted (see "Your rights").

The webstore

The Monsters VS Guards store is a separate service and has its own Privacy Notice.

The store processes additional information relating to your Minecraft account and purchases, including information connected with orders processed through Tebex.

The store's Privacy Notice explains that processing separately.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning your personal data, including rights to request access to, correction of or deletion of personal data concerning you.
